Lovely: LGBTQI Student Leaders

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀?

When I was in my second year in college. I met a professor who openly expressed her support to LGBTIQ+ Community. She asks the pronouns and honorifics of her students to affirm our identity. I felt seen and free inside the four corners of our room because the professor we look up to is an ally of the LGBTIQ+ Community.

This kind of support, even how small a gesture is, created a safe space where respect and acceptance were not just encouraged but practiced every day. It reminded me that acceptance does not always require grand actions sometimes, it begins with listening.

Inclusive education matters to me, because as a part of LGBTIQ+ Community, it creates a safe and respectful learning environment for everyone regardless of their identity where we feel accepted and supported.
